Our term for an online community that is designed to further the goals of a company, government organization, or even a non-profit, is corporate community. We divide them into closed communities, which are intended for and restricted to employees of the organization, and outreach communities, in which the broader community is engaged in interaction with the company.
Our focus is mostly on the latter. The market for closed communities, often called groupware, is heavily populated, and these applications often require features or integration with internal systems that we aren't all that good at. Video-conferencing, or pulling data from SAP, for example, are things that we don't do. Still, if you're interested in something that resembles an open community, but which is simply run behind your corporate firewall, we would be happy to work with you on it, and we will be sure to bring a fresh perspective to it.
If your organization has, as part of its charter, interaction with the broader community, then we can design and implement an effective solution for you. It may be that you provide services that can be improved with an online component. Perhaps you wish to engage with the broader community by sponsoring and promoting events. Perhaps you feel that it's time that your employees jumped on the blog bandwagon. For any of these, we can advise and deliver.
